In June 2025, the International Association of Intelligent Engineering and Technology (AIET) announced that its Honorary Ambassador network had officially expanded to Europe, and the first group of European regional Honorary Ambassadors had completed the appointment process and formally taken office. This strategic initiative marks the further expansion of the global influence map of AIET and represents another important milestone in the Association international development strategy.

The first group of European regional Honorary Ambassadors includes eight appointees from six major European industrial and technological powers: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Switzerland. The appointed Honorary Ambassadors are all senior experts and industry leaders in intelligent engineering and technology in their respective countries, with outstanding professional achievements and broad industry influence in academic research, technological innovation, or industrial advancement. Their participation will provide strong support for AIET academic exchange, standards promotion, and membership development in Europe.

According to the relevant provisions of the AIET Honorary Ambassador system, the main responsibilities of Honorary Ambassadors include representing the Association in carrying out academic promotion and public relations activities in intelligent engineering and technology in their countries and regions; assisting the Association in establishing and maintaining cooperation with local universities, research institutions, industry organizations, and government departments; participating in the planning and organization of major academic activities and international conferences of the Association; providing regional professional advice for the Association strategic planning and industry standard formulation; and actively recommending and developing outstanding professional talent in their regions to join the AIET membership system.

In the appointment announcement, the Secretary-General of AIET stated: "Europe is one of the core regions for the development of global intelligent engineering and technology, with a strong industrial foundation, leading research capacity, and a mature standardization system. The expansion of the Honorary Ambassador network into Europe will not only strengthen the close connection between AIET and the European academic and industrial communities, but will also inject new vitality into the Association global standardization work and international cooperation projects. We believe that through the bridge-building role of the Honorary Ambassadors, AIET will be better able to integrate global intelligent engineering resources and promote coordinated development and common progress in the industry."

Previously, the AIET Honorary Ambassador network had established mature working structures in the Asia-Pacific region and North America, with more than 20 Honorary Ambassadors appointed in total, playing an important role in promoting international academic exchange, advancing mutual recognition of technical standards, and expanding the global influence of the Association. With the formal establishment of the European network, the AIET Honorary Ambassador system has achieved full coverage of the three major global engineering and technology regions. The Association stated that it will continue to expand the Honorary Ambassador network in a planned manner into emerging market regions such as the Middle East, South America, and Africa, gradually building a professional influence network covering the world major economies and contributing to the balanced development of global intelligent engineering and technology.
