Recently, multiple international academic media outlets and industry observation organizations have conducted special reports and in-depth analysis on the innovative practice of the Association of Intelligent Engineering and Technology (AIET) in independent review mechanisms, considering that the review system established by the Association provides a valuable reference example for the construction of review mechanisms among academic organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.

The reports focus on three core features of the AIET review mechanism. First is the design of the three-round review system: all research outcome recognition and award evaluations must go through three independent stages, preliminary review, second review, and final review, gradually narrowing the candidate scope and ensuring the comprehensiveness and rigor of review conclusions. Second is the conflict-of-interest avoidance mechanism: review experts must sign an independence declaration before accepting a review task, and experts with cooperation relationships or interest connections with the reviewed party are excluded from that round of review. Third is the complete separation of review and nomination: personnel who participate in nomination may not simultaneously serve in a review role, thereby safeguarding review independence at the institutional level.

A Singapore university engineering professor interviewed for the report commented that the design of the AIET review mechanism reflects a deep understanding of international academic review norms and localized practice, and that the combination of three-round review and conflict-of-interest avoidance is forward-looking among similar academic organizations in the Asia-Pacific region. The professor also pointed out that the sustained and effective operation of a review mechanism depends on support from a high-quality review expert team, and that AIET investment in review expert selection and annual training deserves recognition.

The Chair of the AIET Review Committee responded that the Association review mechanism has always been built around the core principles of independence, professionalism, and transparency. Since the establishment of the Review Expert Panel in 2020, the Association has cumulatively completed hundreds of research outcome reviews and award evaluations, and the review mechanism has been continuously optimized and improved in practice. The Association will continue strengthening the construction of the review expert team and regularly conduct review standards training to ensure continuous improvement in review quality.

The reports also mention that the innovative practice of the AIET review mechanism has demonstrative significance for academic organizations in the Asia-Pacific region in building credibility. As demand for academic recognition in the region continues to grow, establishing a sound, transparent, and independent review system has become one of the key elements for academic organizations to enhance international influence.
