In December 2025, the International Association of Intelligent Engineering and Technology (AIET) officially announced the launch of the first batch of 2026 honorary appointment applications. From now on, qualified professionals in intelligent engineering and technology may submit applications through official Association channels and, after passing review, receive an AIET honorary appointment. The AIET honorary appointment system is an honour-based professional title system established by the Association to commend and recognize outstanding professional talent in intelligent engineering and technology. This batch of appointment applications opens four major appointment categories: Appointed Research Fellow, for research-oriented talent with deep academic attainment and rich research experience in intelligent engineering-related fields; Appointed Engineering Expert, for senior engineering and technical personnel who have achieved significant accomplishments in engineering technology practice and possess rich project experience; Appointed Industry Advisor, for industry leaders who have made outstanding contributions to intelligent engineering industry development, corporate management, or policy consultation; and Appointed Young Scholar, for outstanding young technology professionals under the age of 40 who demonstrate exceptional potential in intelligent engineering and technology.

The application requirements for each appointment category are clear and set a high professional threshold. Applicants must meet the following basic conditions: hold a master degree or above in a relevant professional field or equivalent educational qualification; have no fewer than five years of professional work experience in intelligent engineering and technology-related fields, or three years for the Young Scholar category; have obtained measurable professional achievements in the applied direction, including but not limited to academic publications, patent authorization, participation in standard formulation, leadership of major projects, or receipt of industry awards; and possess good professional ethics and reputation, with no record of academic misconduct or violations. The application process mainly includes the following stages: applicants submit the application form and relevant supporting materials online through the AIET official website; the Association Secretariat conducts a preliminary review of material completeness and compliance; the Academic Committee organizes an expert review group to conduct professional evaluation of the application materials; the review results are officially announced after approval by the Association Council; and approved applicants receive honorary appointment certificates after completing appointment procedures. The entire review cycle is expected to take six to eight weeks after submission.
